Plant Details

Low - Bright Indirect Light
This plant will thrive and grow the strongest in a bright indirect light, but is flexible and will tolerate most lighting scenarios, down to a low light.
Drought Tolerant
Allow the soil to dry completely and stay dry before watering fully, as infrequently as once every other week or once a month. Increase watering frequency with increased light.
Not Pet-friendly
This plant is NOT safe for pets.
More Info
The Sansevieria, or “Snake Plant”, is a classic houseplant that anyone can keep alive, no matter how much of a “black thumb” you are convinced you have. They are flexible to all lighting condition. They love a bright indirect light, but will do fine in dark areas of your home. They prefer for the soil to dry completely between waters (if you are unsure, wait on the longer side), and are extremely drought tolerant. On top of being easy to care for, the Sansevieria is also known to be one of the most air purifying house plants, releasing oxygen at night and filtering the air, to help you breathe and rest better.
Protip: The Sansevieria can stay in the same pot for years because they prefer to be tight and rootbound. However, if you want to propagate, it is easy! Just unpot and separate the sections of the plant that share roots, then repot. You could also use sharp clean scissors to take a cutting from the spear like leaves themselves, and place the cut end in water with rooting hormones, then pot into fresh soil once roots have grown.
